Our Youth Program
Our youth classes are held on a weekly basis. Our schedule is as follows:
Ballroom for children ages 4 to 6: Tuesdays at 4:30-5:15 p.m.
Performance Ballroom for Preteens + Teens ages 11+: Thursdays at 5:15 p.m.
Hip Hop: Saturdays at 3:00-3:45 p.m.
Description of classes:
Mommy & Me
Dance Charisma offers an ideal program for parent and child to share together, providing a curriculum for children where toddlers learn music and movement through songs, rhymes, tapping, clapping, wiggles and lullabies. Adorable props are used, such as streamers, hula hoops, hats, and stuffed toys. ( Coming Soon)
Kinderballet
Pre-ballet/jazz movement classes help to devlop rhythm, coordination and focus. It also helps to foster flexibility and develop the habits of learning movements with increasing complexity, while being introduced to the magical world of ballet and jazz. (Coming Soon)
Ballroom classes for children and teens is where the basics of ballroom and latin dancing are introduced. Different dances are emphasized each month. Our students may work towards a particular choreographed dance as a group, and are invited to compete or perform showcases several times each year. Dances and music are age-appropriate. Those who want to move more quickly than the group are encouraged to take private lessons, either as individuals or with a partner from the class, offered at reduced rates. Family discounts are applicable, and parents may take their own private lessons at the same time as their children in the group.
In addition to learning balance, coordination, and dancing, children and teens learn skills that will benefit them in other ways, such as manners, courtesy, cooperation, competition, and improved self-esteem. And, we're proud to say some of our students have grown up to become competition dancers and full-time instructors!
Dance Charisma also offers a Hip Hop class, taught in a positive atmosphere, open to all ages, on Thursdays at 5:15 p.m.
